Show Drop Imminent
August 28th, 2009
Given the fact that school is starting very soon, I doubt I will have time to sub things solo. Therefore I am considering dropping Haruhi.
So, thanks for the ride, guys.

Oh yeah? Shitty upscaled raw with stlolen afk subs? Do not fucking want. It’s better for now to save afk releases and wait for the BD-rips. What Yuki doing in nothing but waste of time.
@Hurrdurr
Talking about wastes of time…
Upscaled or not, Yuki’s releases looked gorgeous.
@Hurrdurr
Assholes like you should be shot.Yuki’s subs are by far the best for archiving,and (almost) everybody knows it.it’s the same as what Hitsuji did with Season 1 of Haruhi.a.f.k were the best until they came up back then,but it was the same thing back then too.a.f.k’s subs are the best,but their video quality is crapfest.so Hitsuji did something about it.and now Yuki is doing the same with Season 2.
@Hurrdurr
Well if you don’t like the release, then why are you here?
Just to say how much you don’t like them? Now aren’t you wasting time?
Besides, over half the new eps are endless eight which is a waste of time to download BD-rips of anyway.
Also @Rokudaime. Mazui has the wost quality of video.
@Hurrdurr
The very fact that you’re here to post that means that you must be a regular visitor.
This is the reason I, by-and-large, despise the internet. People wouldn’t be so needlessly unpleasant in real life, and even if they would, it’d hardly be something to brag about. Shame, really.
Hemmhhhh…..
Now ‘one particular not very appreciate someone else works’ person is in the house talking big about something that maybe that ‘one particular not very appreciate someone else works’ person does not understand or the worst does not know what sub is. (what a despicable person, wait a minute, is it even a person?)
But for now, I think the most crucial point of all is to make sure that this fansubs work to be continue right?, and i really thought that a lot of people that appreciate, cherish and love your work Yuki-san is all over the net (anyway, just ignore the’one particular not very appreciate someone else works’ person, okay?? hee2) really just hoped one thing for you…
To make sure that all the people that love your works to continue love your works!
and by the response that they show for your annoucement,, in the same day as that., your site is overflowed by 106 Comments (when i write this of course) just for this announcement, don’t you see?, they really want to help you just because they love to!
why so hesitate to let us know your opinion about this?
Yuki-san, me to, as one of your subs lover, please, just let me know your response for all of this.. because no matter what we said or offered to you, it all come back to your own respectable decision…
Just, take your time Yuki-san…
PS: I think before we post a comment we should wait a response from Yuki-san it self, so before we move on, we have to know first what Yuki-san thinking…
PS. 2: Sorry for my lack of grammar, not a native speaker by the way… ^v^
Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
@fff
I never said a.f.k’s video quality is worse than Mazui.Mazui is just plain awful,and should stop subbing alltogether,for the good of the community.
@Rokudaime
Are they really THAT bad? The video quality looks fine to me, considering they only have access to whatever raws are available at the time, and while their subtitles may not be perfect, they’re not unreadable either. I’m grateful for them releasing Haruhi so quickly. a.f.k. are the ones to keep, certainly, but they release four days later, and that’s a long time to wait.
@Rokudaime
Mazui are speedsubbers. I appreciate their efforts getting us Haruhi before anyone else; if there aren’t “HD” raws, they’ll even do it with the SD to tide us over. It’s a totally different niche to this.
a.f.k. have fantastic subs, good translations, excellent attention to detail; but they use hardsubbed XVID/MP3 in AVI, because they always have. That’s just plain not as good as H.264, but they do extremely well for XVID; put their original series ones alongside any other XVID release of its time and be blown away.
Chihiro is quite good, but Yuki’s filtering is (was?) much better.
And yes, Yuki by comparison is
@Yuki`N
As you wish. I hope your real life improves and your school goes well, and thank you very much for having brought this to us! It’s very greatly appreciated!
I … guess that … means we have some work to do. Could you please give us some info on which raws you used and the filters (Avisynth scripts?) to get us started off? Would it be OK if we released under [Yuki]? Will hang on IRC… I guess we’d better get this show on the road at some point carrying on with it; we have Sighs to go on with, and then 00 and Live A Live…
much appreciation and gratitude always.with that said,sleeves rolled up and ready.
If we were to start releasing ourselves I think we should use another name, so people understand that there has been a change of personnel here. [Yuki's Minions] or something….
@Manwards
@Myoukochou
I have never had any problems waiting a few extra days for a better realese in the series I like,so if there is a better one available later,I never download the speedier,poorer realese first.in this case,I never download Mazui,because I have no problem waiting for a.f.k.It ruins the experience watching an episode with poor subs first,before watching the good version later.Mazui is awful in my oppinion because of their subs,mainly.their video quality is ok,but last time I watched a realese from them,the timing for the fonts didn’t match the dialogue in all places,and some scenes would freeze.I have no idea why,as I haven’t had this problem with Chihiro,or any other h.264 realeses/subbers,and I have the Combined Community Codec Pack aswell.yet the problem happened on both Media Player Classic and the latest version of VLC.anyway,I just don’t like them.
Chihiro,on the other hand,are good.I’m having trouble choosing between them and a.f.k these days…Chihiro has better video quality,but a.f.k sub all background dialogue,which Chihiro doesn’t,not to mention a.f.k’s attention to translating all signs and the like.As Myoukochou said,they have excellent attention to detail.other than that,there are some parts of the subs I like better in Chihiro,and some that I like better in a.f.k.
All this is why Yuki’s realeses are defenitely the best.He has the subbing quality of Chihiro and a.f.k combined,the same excellent attention to detail as a.f.k,and better video quality than any of them!…I sure will miss you,Yuki…..good luck with life and school,I’m drowning in studies myself,so I know how you feel.And thank you ever so much for what you’ve done so far.You’re the best!much respect!
@naaget
Why not go the obvious route, and use [Nagato]?
Name picking aside,since there’s a bit to be caught up on,should someone start those raw stream downloads? I know filter settings still need to be picked up,but something’s gotta start somwhere.The name thing can be decided during the process,right?Afterall,I really do want to do this(to continue on this great work for fans of the show and to do it in HD glory)
So much drama…
I like Yuki’s releases too, but seriously. She even said that she doesn’t care herself, so really…
@C.R.
Been there, done that…
Yoo bad, that fansub was the best for archivisation because of awesome video quality
But school is more important than fubs ;D
Take care ;p
… T_T .. but but its only 4 episodes left.. 20 – 24
doushite..??
dango: Because Yuki`N has school, I figure, and school > fansubbing. Which is fair enough; we can only now be grateful and pick up where Yuki`N left off, if we’re allowed to.
We’re at 24 now (end of Sighs, released by the Mazui speedsubbers in Dotcrawl-O-Vision today), but there’s at least another 4 from S1 coming (I think we’ll get The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina as we’ve just seen it filmed, Live Alive, The Day of Sagittarius, and Someday in the Rain), and remember the S1s are much higher raw quality (I understand?), and what I think [Yuki] was originally intending to do before it became well known that S2 would be interleaved with the S1 repeat like this. Rumours of a completely unannounced Disappearance are hopeful, but unfounded; we’ll just have to see but honestly I think this might be it, for this year at least, unless they saved a LOT of voice-actor time doing you-know-what (and I don’t think they did).
naaget: Well, we’ll see. Thanks for the raws, I have PD myself, and we need to do a quality comparison.
I’m asking permission for us to actually use the name, at least, or for me to help out, in the IRC channel, as I feel cooperation as closely as we can handle is the best way. I can understand if Yuki`N wants to walk away, but I want this to be part of [Yuki], I want this to carry on until the end of the series.
I don’t want to use anything other than [Yuki] to carry on if I can help it, simply because (for example) [Nagato] sorts before [Yuki] and it’s really annoying for a batch release to switch groups halfway through, especially if the new episodes appear at the top! Imagine, if you will, the directory:
[Nagato]_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_(2009)_-_20_(1280×720.h264)_[DEADBEEF].mkv
[Yuki]_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_(2009)_-_01_(1280×720.h264)_[4F7894C1].mkv
[Yuki]_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_(2009)_-_02_(1280×720.h264)_[9010EDC0].mkv
…
No, that’d drive me nuts. This is archive, at least until BDs come out (if they do). We’re not in a hurry, and archive should be as near-perfect as we can manage, and that includes little details like that. If we can do it at all, we want to use [Yuki], and since we want to continue in the best possible quality we can, knowing what filters (how DID you kill that dotcrawl so well, Yuki?) and which raws got used is important so we can try to maintain the same level of quality throughout that Yuki`N has so graciously brought to us so far.
*shrugs* It’s not drama, we’re pretty much on the same page here.
As suggested in the channel, I’m simply waiting for a response. I’ve got a little time, and I won’t let it die (no matter how much KyoAni wanted to kill it).
sounds good to me.as long as we use a.f.k and/or Chihiro’s subs,and not Mazui’s.
I’d love to help too, I hang around in the IRC a bit, except like I’ve said before, don’t exactly know much that’ll help in this. I know PHP and all that stuff if you guys needs a site or something.
@Myoukochou
If you get a OK for the name use, you can actually take both “Yuki” and “Nagato” and make it “YuNa” or “Yu-Na” or something if you’re on about the alpha-sorting issue.
don’t drop!
i like haruhi of Yuki fansub
please, continue it to final eps
thanks!
Come on!
don’t drop it!
we love Yuki fansub, continue 20-28 when you have spare time, we can wait for 2 weeks per eps. So, don’t drop, studying is important,but we believe that you can solve it. Making sub when you have free time at night, just 2 hours for making sub. Haruhi of Yuki fansub has HD quality which other fansub don’t have.
We hope Yuki will continue it. Thank you!
@Hurrdurr: thanks for comment earlier. you have no idea what a damn fcuking b@stard you have grown up to be, i wish your sound mental development to praise other people’s hardwork.
@Yuki`N: thanks for you hard work. i wasn’t particularly following haruhi suzumiya s2 to be honest because i dropped it halfway (and i was following a.f.k). just came here to drop by. Anyways, your reasons for dropping Haruhi is absolutely okay. Real life is far important. School is important. I never managed to enter the fansubbing community which I always thought to be so much fun sharing the love of anime for the fans because of my school. and I understand your situation. Thanking you again for spreading the love for anime and wishing you all the ebst in your school and everyday life.

lots of fans want your version since it was/is the best!!!
