Ay, Endless Eight definitely is endless.
Never knew animes could troll until this one. I feel like I’m being majorly punk’d right now Hope they make up for this by extending the series end a few more episodes.

As far as I know they are ending this storyline by the next episode (#15) and its about time, the concept was great but when the exact episode came (#14) but with just different clothes and angles I got worried. Hopefully Haruhi will have enough episodes to end with a great finale ^_^

Seems strangely familiar mind you, but that’s probably because Kadokawa are enormous sodding trolls.

I swear, this was one chapter in the book. 15,498 was the last cycle there. Let’s hope they’re just going for the round number.

This makes me worry if they’re actually going to do any of the rest of the story, because if they carry on with this, they won’t have enough episodes left (unless, that is, they lied about how many episodes were in the run and have extras in the wing, but I seriously doubt that, it’d cause syndication/listing problems on the networks, they’d never allow it).

And it’d be a crying shame to lose The Sigh (especially after the infamous ep 00, which makes a lot more sense after the ‘Making Of’, so to speak…), Snow Mountain Syndrome, Where Did The Cat Go?, or the Disappearance.

Two episodes would have been amusing. Three could have been stretching it a bit. Four is absolutely ripping the ****, but, well… that’s Kadokawa.

But I’d hate to see them turn a series of epic win into epic fail. If they actually run this into five (or more) episodes, clearly at the expense of the rest of the story, Haruhi herself may break the fourth wall to tear them a new one, and I’d have to wonder a few things—like how, or if, they’ll get away with trolling the fans at the expense of Tanigawa-san (and KyoAni, who do have better things to do than animate the same episode over and over again with slightly different scenes). Last time Tanigawa-san got angry with an adaptation, the manga got pulled. They could be surfing on the brink of disaster here.

*pokes Kyon, points furiously to the pile of schoolbooks* …come ON, already…! Just how dense are you? What is it you’ll regret having not done most of all on the last day of summer term, if you’d be going to school the next day?

…gar’s right. Just seen 15, broadcast today. It *didn’t end*. Another loop.

You know, at this point, that doesn’t even feel like a spoiler. More of a warning. It’s just kind of depressing. What a damn waste of a good show. No wonder Mazui dropped it for Spice & Wolf II.

I suppose this means they’re probably NOT doing the Sigh; they’ve now run out of episodes to put it in!

16 has to be the last one, as 17 has to be The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru, unless that is they’re chopping one of the other stories; either Where Did The Cat Go?, Snow Mountain Syndrome, Charmed at First Sight ~LOVERS~ or making the Disappearance considerably shorter (which would seem rather odd, given the theme of the ED).

Unfortunately, losing the Sigh itself means we don’t get to see the movie being made, so don’t know why the movie is significant.

So, at least one awesome story has to go because they wanted to make a dumb joke. We waited two years for this?

Fail, Kadokawa. There’s no other word for it. Fail.

For those who just intend to skip all but the first and last episodes of Endless Eight—which is now looking like a rather good episode order—here is the lone cycle of Endless Eight from the light novel, including the ending. (Spoiler. Obviously.)

Can’t wait for them to get back to S1 again, that was good. I just hope this hasn’t ruined it for me.

According to 2chan, Kadokawa are digging their own graves in deciding that Endless Eight will be SIX EPISODES LONG.

That’s right folks. There are still another 3 episodes of this stupid story arc.

And even better news. The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, one of my favourites, will NOT be animated, because of “lol cba”.

Even I can’t believe that; they’re skipping Disappearance?

I can understand them adapting Sigh (although not six episodes of Endless Eight, that’s just taking the goose that laid the golden egg, and making foie gras out of it)… but if they’re skipping Disappearance, the theme of the ED seems a bit out of place. Did someone not tell KyoAni?

I don’t think they are skipping Disappearance…I thought they were just not going to make it part of S2.

I’m so disappointed. I was really hoping they would end the story by the 15th episode, but no! How many times do we have to sit through this, its such a waste of time. At least 15 had a few different small variations. But if its true and another two good episodes are wasted on this storyline, then Kadokawa have really set themselves up for disaster!

At this rate, they might as well not have bothered with a second season.

Maybe that’s their point. Maybe they actually grew to secretly hate Haruhi because the fan reaction was so utterly extreme it overshadowed their other stuff, and they were determined to trash it; in much the same way as many famous singers grow very tired of their most famous hit single…

Just skipped trough some scenes and saw what a huge drop of quality the episode has…are the available raws that bad?

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing. And also all characters (especially Kyon) are drawn very poorly.

it’s look like they forgot where did they put the storyboard, so Director just say : “Ah, nevermind, use the last episode we aired, recolor it, and call it the endless so we have more time to search the missing storyboard”

I really hope next week there will be an clear improvement. I just want the darn story to get somewhere! O.O

whats also funny is that the back sponsors are getting majorly pissed off by kadokawa. there’s a rumour (a very small rumour) that they are being forced to skip one of the endless eight episodes and go straight to the last episode of that arc. I sincerely hope this is true.

As I said, Tanigawa-san (the author) already got pissed off by the manga adaptation, and pulled the plug.

Given how Kadokawa are behaving, if he thinks they’re killing it (and they basically are—this isn’t “Endless Eight”, this is “Endless FILLER”!), he could pull the plug on S2 and take his golden eggs somewhere else.

I feel sorry for KyoAni.

There is a theory going around on 2ch that the rebroadcast/2009 airing will contain Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, Endless Eight, and The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya for new material. Then Season 2 will start on October 15 and that will start with the Disappearance. Thoughts? It might just be a rumor but it gives people hope xD

Ok, I can understand 3 same episodes, but 6 @_@ and drop of quality, this is madness.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t going to be another season after this one. And if there is, well then it’s just another reason to screw around with Haruhi >:(

Kadokawa and KyoAni know what they’re doing. Personally, I find this little stunt to be pretty ballsy, and I’m enjoying the fan reaction, like I’m sure KyoAni are, too. They like to mess with their fans, but in the end, they’re going to pull through.

Haruhi S1 wasn’t originally supposed to be only 14 episodes, but unfortunately the series got cut down. What with Haruhi’s popularity, I have a hard time believing they’re only going to do 14 new episodes this time round. As far as I’ve heard, the only confirmation that S2 is 14 eps comes from an outside source not related to KyoAni at all.

What I’m getting at is, don’t be surprised if after the episode 28 “finale,” we get another surprise episode a week later.

It’s wishful thinking to be sure, but it’s also the exact kind of thing that KyoAni is (in)famous for doing.

I thought that the source for the 28 episode rebroadcast was the television station that airs Haruhi. I thought they put 28 weeks for them in the schedule or something?

It isn’t season 2. It is more episodes mixed in with the original episodes. So they are reairing the old ones with the new episodes mixed put in the proper order.
